How It All Started
Syd Kyle-Little was born in 1918. A 3rd generation Territorian, his father was a Northern Territory policeman. As a young man before the war, Syd spent time with his uncle George Goodman, a buffalo shooter out at Humpty Doo Station, where he taught Syd to shoot buffalo from horse-back! Bulls were shot using a sawn off .303 rifle in those days!
After the war Syd became a Patrol Officer with the Native Affairs department where he established the Kyle-Little family’s long association with aboriginal people and a close relationship with the Arnhemland aborigines.
Hunting in the true wilderness of Aboriginal owned Arnhem Land is a privilege few hunters will ever experience.
Read about Syd Kyle-Little’s adventures in Arnhem Land in his book “Whispering Wind”.
